Polygon outlines the best Xbox Game Pass titles to play over a busy sports weekend, featuring Like a Dragon: Yakuza Pirate in Hawaii, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, and Madden NFL 26.
Big sports weekends are a great litmus test for the gaming community. While millions tune into massive broadcast events like the Super Bowl or the Winter Olympics, plenty of players prefer to use the downtime to tackle their backlogs. For subscribers looking to bypass the sports coverage entirely, Austin Manchester and Giovanni Colantonio over at Polygon have highlighted three standout Xbox Game Pass titles that offer the ideal distraction for a cozy weekend indoors.
If you want something delightfully chaotic, Like a Dragon: Yakuza Pirate in Hawaii lets you step into the shoes of the iconic Goro Majima as he navigates amnesia, tropical settings, and naval combat. It delivers the signature emotional beats of the franchise alongside over-the-top action that easily rivals dedicated pirate adventures. For players craving cooperative chaos, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 recently joined the subscription service. Its punchy campaign and visceral multiplayer modes provide a heavy dose of hack and slash action that requires zero prior lore knowledge to thoroughly enjoy.
Finally, football fans who are tired of seeing the same dynasties dominate the real NFL can take matters into their own hands. Madden NFL 26 is available on the platform, allowing you to rewrite sports history by running your own virtual Super Bowl simulations. Whether you want to lead the Seahawks to victory or finally give Buffalo the championship run fans have been waiting for, it is a satisfying way to engage with the weekend's sports energy on your own terms.
