Xbox Players Get a Clever Way to Access Grand Theft Auto 6 Early

Xbox players can use a regional timezone trick to access Grand Theft Auto 6 up to twenty hours early compared to PlayStation 5 users, thanks to Rockstar's rolling midnight release schedule.
As the industry prepares for the November 19 launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, Xbox players have discovered a familiar method to beat the clock. According to reporting by GameRant, Rockstar is planning a rolling midnight release for the title. Because Xbox consoles allow users to easily adjust their regional settings, players on Microsoft systems can take advantage of the classic New Zealand trick to access the game well ahead of local time zones. For players on the West Coast of the United States, this workaround could mean diving into the single-player experience nearly twenty hours early on November 18, while PlayStation 5 owners must wait for midnight in their own regions.
This small platform advantage arrives amid several notable details surrounding the highly anticipated launch. Rockstar has confirmed that the game will release as a strictly single-player experience without an online mode at launch, and physical copies will ship as boxes containing digital download codes rather than discs. While the lack of physical media and the absence of a confirmed PC version have sparked debate across community forums, the sheer scale of the release remains unmatched. The rolling launch schedule might also help mitigate some of the inevitable server strain that comes with millions of players downloading the files simultaneously.
Despite the clear perk for Microsoft hardware owners, industry analysts note that this timezone workaround is unlikely to drastically shift console sales figures in favor of Xbox. The PlayStation 5 maintains a dominant market share and broader global brand recognition, and most casual consumers remain entirely unaware of regional timezone adjustments. Even so, securing an early start on the biggest release of the generation is a fun victory for the Xbox community, especially for dedicated fans willing to set an early alarm on launch week.
