Xbox has officially revealed Mythic Achievements, bringing a long-awaited Platinum Trophy equivalent to the ecosystem starting today for Insiders.
Xbox is finally getting its own version of the coveted Platinum Trophy. Following recent leaks, Microsoft officially detailed Mythic Achievements through an Xbox Wire post, with the feature rolling out today for members of the Xbox Insider program. Just like the PlayStation equivalent, players will unlock a Mythic distinction after completing all of the original base game achievements for a title. Best of all, subsequent DLC and post-launch updates will not strip away your hard-earned Mythic status, meaning 100 percent completionists can finally flex their dedication without worrying about moving goalposts.
To help players track their progress, Xbox is overhauling player profiles with a dedicated Gaming tab and introducing built-in progress bars for every achievement list. Mythics will also feature a distinct heroic visual frame so they stand out prominently on your profile. While Microsoft has not yet dropped a comprehensive list of supported titles, the rollout will automatically apply to eligible games, including classic Xbox 360 favorites. With the feature arriving hot on the heels of major studio restructuring and layoffs at the company, players are watching closely to see how these community-focused quality of life updates land alongside broader platform shifts.
Polygon originally reported these details, highlighting how Xbox is finally catching up to a feature that PlayStation introduced back in 2008. For multi-platform releases, Microsoft could potentially leverage existing achievement data, while first-party exclusives will require manual configuration. Either way, long-time achievement hunters finally have a standardized way to show off their absolute mastery across the ecosystem.
