Xbox Lets You Stream Your *Own* Games? Blimey, That's Clever! (And Here's What's Coming in August 2025)

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is expanding its 'Stream Your Own Games' service, letting you stream a bunch of indie titles you already own to various devices – which is actually a pretty clever way to give your library a new lease on life.

Right, so Xbox is doing this rather bonkers thing in August 2025 – letting Game Pass Ultimate subscribers stream games they *already* own. I know, I know, it sounds a bit backwards at first. Like, why would you stream something you've already paid for? But stick with me, mate, because it's actually quite brilliant.

See, the 'Stream Your Own Games' service, which, according to Game Rant, has been kicking about in a test phase since November 2024 (originally for Xbox Insiders, then expanding to Xbox One and Series X|S), is now available to *all* Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. The big news? They're adding a *hundred* new titles to the lineup. Yep, you read that right. A hundred.

Now, before you go thinking this is all about streaming the latest AAA behemoths, the real magic is in the indie scene. Think titles like *A Short Hike*, *SOMA*, *Tetris Effect: Connected*, and even the first four *Five Nights at Freddy's* games. Basically, if you own 'em, you can stream 'em to your phone, tablet, PC, or even (wait for it…) VR headsets. Mind. Blown.

But why is this a good thing? Well, a few reasons jump out. Firstly, it means you can play your favourite indies on devices that might not normally be able to handle them. Fancy a bit of *SOMA* on your commute? Now you can. Secondly, it gives these games a new lease of life. Some of these titles might be sitting unplayed in your library, gathering digital dust. Streaming them makes them accessible again. And thirdly (and this is a sneaky one), you can earn Microsoft Rewards points for playing on PC. Free stuff? Always a win.

Here’s the full list of titles, according to Game Rant:

* A Memoir Blue * A Short Hike * Airborne Kingdom * Amnesia: Rebirth * Archvale * Astria Ascending * Bassmaster® Fishing * Beacon Pines * Choo-Choo Charles * DEEEER Simulator: Your Average Everyday Deer Game * DEMON'S TILT * Dodgeball Academia * Dreamscaper * Eastern Exorcist * Eastshade * Echo Generation * Edge of Eternity * Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising * Embr * Exo One * F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch * F1 Manager 2023 * F1 Manager 2024 * Fae Farm * Fae Tactics * Figment 2: Creed Valley * Figment: Journey Into the Mind * Five Nights at Freddy's * Five Nights at Freddy's 2 * Five Nights at Freddy's 3 * Five Nights at Freddy's 4 * Flynn: Son of Crimson * From Space * Ghost Song * Ghostlore * Gigantic: Rampage Edition * Gorogoa * Guacamelee! 2 * Hole io * HyperDot * I Am Fish * Immortality * Infinite Guitars * Inkulinati * Into the Pit * Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition * Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess * Kraken Academy!! * Last Stop * Levelhead * McPixel 3 * Morkredd * MX vs ATV All Out * MX vs ATV Legends * Myst * Next Space Rebels * Nobody Saves the World * Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition * Observation * One Step From Eden * Paradise Killer * Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy * PHOGS! * PICO PARK 2 * Ravenlok * Ready or Not * Recompile * Ring of Pain * Riverbond * Rubber Bandits * Ruiner * ScourgeBringer * Signs of the Sojourner * Silence - The Whispered World 2 * Solasta: Crown of the Magister * SOMA * Spelunky 2 * Streets of Rage 4 * Supermarket Shriek * Supraland: Six Inches Under * Tacoma * Tainted Grail: Conquest * Telling Lies * Tetris® Effect: Connected * The Artful Escape * The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet Of Chaos - Chicken Edition * The Forgotten City * The Procession to Calvary * The Wild at Heart * Torchlight III * Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion * Turnip Boy Robs a Bank * Ultimate Custom Night * UNSIGHTED * Unto The End * Visage * Windjammers 2 * Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty * Xeno Crisis * You Suck at Parking® Complete Edition

Of course, you'll need Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to make it all work (currently $19.99 a month, apparently, offering a mountain of other benefits). And, naturally, Microsoft reckons this is all part of their master plan to make Xbox gaming more accessible. Which, fair enough. Making it easier to play games you already own? I can get behind that. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to stream some *Tetris Effect* on my toaster. (Okay, maybe not my toaster... yet.)
