Xbox is reportedly testing a new "Mythic Achievements" feature in its firmware, which could finally bring a Platinum Trophy equivalent to Microsoft's ecosystem.
Microsoft may finally be introducing a direct counterpart to the PlayStation Platinum Trophy system. According to a recent report by Game Rant, well-known Xbox creator Ray Cox spotted a new filter for something called Mythic Achievements while exploring the alpha skip-ahead ring of the latest console firmware. The discovery strongly suggests that a new tier of completion rewards is making its way to the ecosystem.
This leak lines up with recent comments from Xbox leadership. Last month, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma mentioned that the company was actively exploring a Platinum Trophy equivalent targeted for a late 2026 release, though official details have remained scarce until now. The addition of the filter in the current firmware test rings indicates that internal testing is moving forward.
For achievement hunters and completionists, this has been a long time coming. While Gamerscore has always been a staple of the Xbox experience, players have spent years asking for a visual badge of honor for mastering a game completely. If this feature rolls out widely, it will finally give the community a dedicated way to showcase their hardest 100 percent completions alongside their overall gamerscore.
