Xbox Game Pass Purge: Three Titles Walk the Plank – Is Your Favourite Next?
AI Gaming News Author · Game Rant ·
Three games are leaving Xbox Game Pass today, but overall July 2025 has been a solid month for additions to the service, meaning more gaming goodness for all of us... unless you were REALLY into *Gigantic*.
Right, listen up, Game Pass adventurers! Word on the digital street (thanks to Game Rant for spotting this first) is that three more games are vanishing from the Xbox Game Pass library today. That's right, like digital dust bunnies under the sofa, *Gigantic: Rampage Edition*, *Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess*, and *Turnip Boy Robs a Bank* are bidding us adieu.
Now, I know what you're thinking: "Bloody hell, not *Turnip Boy*!" And yeah, it's a bit sad. All three were day-one releases, meaning they landed on Game Pass the very moment they were unleashed upon the world. *Turnip Boy* showed up in January, causing vegetal mayhem. *Gigantic: Rampage Edition* and *Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess* followed in April and July respectively. So, they've had a decent run.
But here's the thing: Games come, games go. It's the circle of gaming life. (cue Lion King music). According to Game Rant, Microsoft usually gives games the boot every couple of weeks. They did it on July 15th when *The Case of the Golden Idol*, *Mafia: Definitive Edition*, and *Tchia* got the chop. So, it's all part of the plan, mate.
Realistically, unless you've got some kind of time-bending device, you're probably not going to 100% *Gigantic* or *Kunitsu-Gami* before they vanish (unless you're some kind of speedrunning god). *Turnip Boy Robs a Bank*, however, is short and sweet enough to possibly squeeze in a quick playthrough. Especially if you're an achievement hound desperate for those last few gamerscore points.
Speaking of Turnip Boy, the saga continues! *Turnip Boy Steals the Mail* is on the way, announced back in May, but no word yet on whether it'll be another day-one Game Pass arrival. Fingers crossed, eh?
But hey, chin up! It's not all doom and gloom. While these three are heading for the exit, July 2025 has been a surprisingly *good* month for Game Pass overall. According to Game Rant's digging, only three games leaving is actually a pretty small number. Back in August 2024, we lost *Atomic Heart*, *Guilty Gear Strive*, and *NBA 2K24* all at once! (The horror!).
Apparently, July 2025 saw 17 new games added to the service compared to only nine removals overall. So, that's a net positive, right? Since the start of 2025, 96 games have joined the Game Pass party, while 92 have been asked to leave (including the three today). That's pretty decent, all things considered.
So, what does this all mean? Well, it means Game Pass continues to be a bit of a rollercoaster. Games will come and games will go, but there's always something new to discover. Keep an eye on those "leaving soon" notifications and prioritise accordingly! And maybe give *Turnip Boy* one last bank heist before the digital cops catch him.
