Xbox Game Pass has detailed its December 2025 lineup, featuring major additions like Mortal Kombat 1 alongside day-one launches such as Death Howl and Routine, as originally reported by Polygon.
As the year draws to a close, Microsoft is rolling out the final wave of Xbox Game Pass additions for December 2025. According to a recent report by Chris Hayner on Polygon, subscribers across console, PC, cloud, and handheld devices can expect a strong mix of heavy hitters and intriguing indie projects. Leading the charge for previously released titles are high-profile additions like Mortal Kombat 1 and the surprisingly viral hit A Game About Digging a Hole, giving players plenty of new content to dive into over the holiday break.
The month also brings notable day-one releases directly to the service. Death Howl, a deeply emotional Soulslike deck-builder that previously earned recognition as an official selection at the Tribeca Festival, is landing for Ultimate, Premium, and PC subscribers. Alongside it comes Routine, a tense first-person horror game set in an abandoned space station. Originally announced way back in 2012, Routine finally arrives for players on December 9, testing survival skills across multiple platforms.
Beyond brand-new additions, Microsoft is adjusting subscription tier access, unlocking previously exclusive games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for players on lower tiers. Live-service mainstays included in the December roadmap also receive fresh seasonal updates, with new content rolling out for titles like Sea of Thieves, Dead by Daylight, and Palworld. For a subscription service that functions as an entertainment lifeline for cross-platform players, this final December drop keeps the momentum strong heading into the new year.
