Xbox Finally Gets Platinum-Style Trophies With Retroactive Mythic Achievements

Microsoft is rolling out Xbox Mythic Achievements for Insiders, offering a Platinum-style completion reward that applies retroactively all the way back to the Xbox 360 era.

Xbox is finally getting a direct equivalent to PlayStation's Platinum Trophies. According to Eurogamer, Microsoft has officially announced Mythic Achievements, which are currently rolling out to Xbox Insiders. These special achievements automatically unlock the moment you complete every base achievement in a title. Best of all, they will be awarded retroactively all the way back to the Xbox 360 era, meaning longtime players might instantly log in to find a massive stack of them waiting on their profiles.

Along with Mythics, the update introduces a revamped Gaming tab for player profiles designed to make tracking and showing off completionist progress much cleaner. You can even check out friends' profiles to compare completion stats. While post-launch DLC achievements will not block you from earning a Mythic, Microsoft has smartly labeled expansion achievements separately so true base completion remains the standard.

This long-awaited feature arrives during a turbulent transitional period for Xbox following significant leadership changes and restructuring under new division head Asha Sharma. While the ecosystem has weathered plenty of corporate headwinds this year, quality-of-life updates like this hit right at the core of what digital hunters care about. There is no official release date yet for the wider public, but Xbox Insiders on console and PC can jump in right now via the Insider Hub.
