Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Sequel Confirmed Under New Studio Led by Original Director

A sequel to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is officially in development at a new studio founded by the original game's director, following an IP acquisition by publisher 505 Games' parent company.

The souls-like scene is getting an unexpected continuation. Following reports that original director Xia Siyuan had left developer Leenzee earlier this year, a sequel to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has officially been announced. The project is heading to a newly formed studio named Indolphinity, formally known as the Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology Company, with 505 Games returning to publish.

The transition comes after publisher Digital Bros acquired the intellectual property rights directly from Leenzee for approximately 4.6 million earlier this spring. Siyuan noted in a joint press release that the new team remains dedicated to keeping the series deeply rooted in its cultural heritage, emphasizing that maintaining their creative heart in China is essential for the franchise's long-term future. Digital Bros co-CEO Raffi Galante echoed this sentiment, stating that the publishing side aims to safeguard the original creative vision while building a lasting global property.

While the first game launched with some notable rough edges on PC, it won over many players and critics through its intricate level design, which drew frequent comparisons to the interconnected architecture of early FromSoftware titles. Details on gameplay remain scarce, but Siyuan has teased that the upcoming installment will tell an entirely new chapter of the story.
