Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Is Getting a Sequel Led by Its Original Creative Director

Following the dissolution of developer Leenzee, a Wuchang: Fallen Feathers sequel has been officially confirmed with original creative director Xia Siyuan leading his new studio, Indolphinity, backed by publisher 505 Games.

Behind-the-scenes turmoil nearly grounded Wuchang: Fallen Feathers following its launch last year, but the soulslike hit is officially getting a second chapter. After the original development team at Leenzee dissolved and the IP was fully acquired by Digital Bros earlier this year for roughly 4 million, publisher 505 Games has confirmed that a sequel is in the preparation phase. More importantly, original creative director Xia Siyuan is officially back at the helm.

Xia is leading development through a newly founded studio named Indolphinity, while 505 Games returns to handle global publishing and funding. The announcement also confirmed that future development will remain deeply rooted in China. Addressing past critiques regarding performance woes and balance issues that weighed down the original release, Xia noted that the team is listening closely to community feedback to deliver a more polished and complete experience in the upcoming sequel.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers managed to cross over five million players thanks in part to its day-one Game Pass launch on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, alongside its PC release. While reviews generally praised its distinct cultural foundation and unique death mechanics, many felt the title stopped short of true innovation. With the core creative vision intact and publisher backing secured, this sequel gives the team a solid chance to refine the formula. You can read the full, original report over at Eurogamer.
