WoW's Patch 11.2: Buddying Up with a Void Lord? Bloody Hell, This is Going to End Well...

World of Warcraft's next patch sees players teaming up with the Harbinger of the Void to stop an even bigger baddie. But how long until the void lord shows her true colors? Place your bets now, folks!

Right, so *World of Warcraft* is gearing up for Patch 11.2, "Ghosts of K’aresh," and, fair dinkum, the plot is thicker than a goblin's wallet. According to Game Rant, we're talking unlikely alliances, ancient mysteries, and, of course, the ever-present threat of total annihilation. But the real kicker? We might just have to team up with *Xal’atath*.

Yeah, *that* Xal’atath. The Harbinger of the Void. The big bad from, well, seemingly everything else in *The War Within*. Turns out, she's got a vested interest in stopping Dimensius, the All-Devouring Void Lord, from turning K’aresh (homeworld of the Ethereals and Brokers, for those playing at home) into the galactic equivalent of a cosmic dumpster fire.

So, what's a hero to do? Apparently, suck it up and buddy up. Alleria Windrunner isn't exactly thrilled about the arrangement (and who can blame her?), but Locus-Walker seems to think it's the best shot they've got. This uneasy alliance is the core of the story in Ghosts of K'aresh. I reckon it's going to be a bit like trying to herd cats – void-corrupted cats, mind you – but hey, at least it'll be entertaining, right?

The patch drops on August 5th, with the Manaforge Omega raid opening a week later on August 12th. Which gives us exactly one week to get our heads around questing with a void lord. The real question is, can we trust her? (Spoiler alert: probably not.) The PTR encounter journal does seem to hint Xal’atath will be assisting in the raid against Dimensius. But how long until she decides to change the script? I’d give it five minutes tops.

In the meantime, there’s a free novella called "The Doom of K’aresh" to sink your teeth into. Apparently, it gives the backstory on Locus-Walker and the history of K’aresh. Get the lowdown and some insider knowledge before things kick-off.

I'm betting this "alliance of convenience" is going to be about as stable as a Jenga tower after a few too many grogs. But that's what makes it interesting, isn't it? Just how far will we go to save Azeroth? And more importantly, what's Xal’atath *really* planning? My money's on something deliciously evil.
