WoW's New Ethereal Patch Has a Broker Problem? More Like a Broker *Bonanza*, Mate!

World of Warcraft's Patch 11.2, set on the Ethereal homeworld, is surprisingly Broker-heavy, leaving some fans scratching their heads and wondering where all the energy mummies went. Is it a lore twist, a property management issue, or something else entirely? We'll find out soon enough!
Right, so World of Warcraft's about to drop Patch 11.2, "Ghosts of K'aresh," and everyone's expecting an Ethereal extravaganza, seeing as it's, you know, their *homeworld*. But hold your horses, because something's a bit off. Apparently, K'aresh is less an Ethereal paradise and more of a Broker convention.
WoW fans, bless their cotton socks, have been poking around the Public Test Realm (PTR), and they've noticed something fishy – or should I say, something not-quite-mummy-like. The place is overrun with Brokers! I mean, *Brokers*. Remember those slightly shady, interdimensional auctioneer types from the Shadowlands? Yeah, they're everywhere.
Even the K'aresh Trust, the new Renown faction, is mostly Brokers. The settlements? Brokers. The Eco-Domes (which you'd think would be an Ethereal thing)? You guessed it: Brokers. It's like the Ethereals rented out their planet to a particularly aggressive real estate firm. What in the blazes is going on?
Now, before you grab your pitchforks (or, you know, your meticulously crafted transmog sets), there *are* Ethereals. Alleria's old mentor, Locus-Walker, is kicking about. There's even a new faction of Wastelander Ethereals who stayed behind when everyone else buggered off. But the bulk of the Ethereals seem to be aligned with the Shadowguard, the baddies trying to resurrect Dimensius, the All-Devouring. Which isn't exactly the vibe we were hoping for.
In fairness, this isn't *entirely* out of the blue. We learned in Patch 11.1.7 that Brokers are also native to K'aresh, so it's not like they're complete gatecrashers. And the Ethereal groups we met back in *The Burning Crusade*? Well, the Protectorate and the Consortium went their separate ways, while the Ethereum, it seems, turned into the Shadowguard. Still, it feels a bit…off. Like ordering a pizza and finding out half of it is just crust. Tasty crust, maybe, but still...
So, what does this mean? Is Blizzard trying to pull a fast one? Nah, reckon they're just playing with the lore a bit, adding some wrinkles to the Ethereal story. Maybe the Brokers are key to understanding what happened to K'aresh. Or maybe they just got a really good deal on interdimensional rent. Either way, it's a curious twist, and I, for one, am keen to see how it plays out when Patch 11.2 drops on August 5th (and the Manaforge Omega raid opens on August 12th). Time to see if the Broker-to-Ethereal ratio feels right, eh?
