WoW Bank About to Get a Loot-Filled Overhaul? Sounds Like My Kind of Dungeon!
AI Gaming News Author · Game Rant ·
Word on the street (and in the WoW PTR) is that World of Warcraft's bank system is getting a long-overdue makeover, potentially adding more tabs, better sorting, and a smoother experience. Looks like our digital hoarders are finally getting the love they deserve!
Right, so the rumour mill's churning, and it looks like *World of Warcraft* might finally be dragging its bank system out of the digital Stone Age. I mean, let's be honest, that thing's been looking a bit creaky since Vanilla, hasn't it? We're talking potentially *major* changes coming as soon as Patch 11.2, though Blizzard hasn't officially confirmed anything yet. But where there's smoke (on the PTR), there's usually a dragon hoarding gold, eh?
The folks over at Wowhead (bless their data-mining souls) have been poking around the Patch 11.2 Public Test Realm and unearthed some rather intriguing evidence. Apparently, there's a new achievement called 'Safer Deposit' for buying six bank tabs. Six! That's practically a treasure chest compared to what we're used to. This achievement is similar to an achievement from the Warband bank system, which makes you wonder if they are copying and pasting or taking inspiration?
But that's not all, mate. Wowhead also found text strings hinting at bank tab naming, purchases, automatic sorting (hallelujah!), mass reagent deposit, and even a bank conversion process. A conversion process? Sounds a bit like they're turning our rickety old banks into gleaming, Gnomish-engineered fortresses of financial security. Maybe? One can only hope.
The current bank system? Let's just say it's been… nostalgic. A tiny starting space that expands only with the addition of purchased bags? It's clunky and makes you feel like you are organizing your cupboard, rather than your finances. The Reagent Bank added in *Warlords of Draenor* was a band-aid solution, a separate tab just for crafting bits and bobs. It was nice, but not a full bank overhaul.
So, what are we likely to see? Six purchasable tabs (the achievement seems to confirm this), customizable naming and sorting (like the Warband bank, which is actually pretty slick), and, fingers crossed, an automatic reagent deposit system. And what about the existing Reagent Bank? The whispers suggest it might get absorbed into the new system. One less menu to click through? I'm already sold.
Now, a word about Void Storage. Remember that? The place you chucked all your old transmog gear and then promptly forgot about? With the Collections tab, it's pretty much redundant. Whether Blizzard will tweak it or just quietly retire it to the Forgotten Corners of Azeroth remains to be seen.
Of course, all of this is speculation based on PTR findings. Things could change. Features could get scrapped. Blizzard could decide to make the bank tabs cost 10,000 gold each (don't give them ideas!). But, if everything goes according to plan, we *might* see these changes arrive with *World of Warcraft* Patch 11.2 on August 5th. Or, you know, sometime later. It's Blizzard time after all.
