World of Darkness Expands with New Looks at Deathwish and Rageborn

The World of Darkness universe is expanding with new details on Hunter: The Reckoning - Deathwish and the reveal of the metroidvania spin-off Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Rageborn.

The sprawling urban fantasy universe of World of Darkness is expanding once again, offering fans a double feature of upcoming supernatural titles. Reported initially by Rock Paper Shotgun, recent showcases gave players a fresh peek at Hunter: The Reckoning - Deathwish alongside the official announcement of Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Rageborn. For a franchise originally rooted in tabletop roleplaying, the ongoing translation into modern multi-platform video games continues to draw strong interest from communities across PC and current-gen consoles.

Deathwish leans heavily into atmospheric investigation and combat, offering a first-person perspective combined with a deeply customizable character creator that nods directly to the classic tabletop ruleset. Trailers showed glimpses of detective work mixed with flexible playstyles, allowing players to approach objectives through stealth or aggressive firepower. Developers also confirmed standard modern RPG staples like companion recruitment and romance options, giving players plenty of narrative hooks to explore when the title eventually launches for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Meanwhile, Rageborn takes the universe in a completely different direction. Developed by crea-ture Studios, known previously for Session: Skate Sim, this new project is a metroidvania based on the fifth edition of the Werewolf tabletop rules. Players step into the shoes of Taylor, an eco-activist who transforms into a werewolf following a tragic encounter. The gameplay loop centers around shifting between three distinct forms, ranging from a ranged-combat human to a stealthy wolf and a ferocious combat war form. Both games are currently available to wishlist on Steam, marking an exciting period for tabletop fans looking to dive back into the shadows.
