IGN South Africa released a new trailer for Whirlight: No Time To Trip ahead of Steam Next Fest, giving players a closer look at protagonist Margaret and the upcoming narrative point-and-click adventure.
Steam Next Fest is always the best week of the season for discovering hidden gems, and the latest trailer for Whirlight: No Time To Trip is a strong reminder of why point-and-click adventures still hold a vital spot in our rotation. IGN South Africa recently showcased a brand new look at the upcoming title, introducing players to protagonist Margaret and offering a fresh glimpse at the mechanics driving this quirky narrative journey. If your backlog has room for a clever puzzle solver with plenty of personality, this one deserves a spot on your wishlist.
While live service grinders and massive battle pass grinds usually dominate our screens, there is always a dedicated community craving a tight, story-driven experience you can knock out in a few satisfying sessions. Point-and-click games have evolved past pixel hunting in the dark, and modern indie developers are leaning hard into cinematic pacing and memorable character writing. Margaret and her world look ready to deliver that exact vibe, making it a refreshing palate cleanser for players who spend most of their time in competitive lobbies or streaming marathon raid nights.
The timing for this new footage could not be better with Steam Next Fest kicking off, giving everyone a chance to test out upcoming demos before launch day. Checking out these creator-adjacent indie showcases is the best way to support smaller studios building unique digital worlds outside the usual AAA ecosystem. You can watch the full trailer and read more about the project over at IGN South Africa, and make sure to download the demo during the festival to see if Margaret's adventure belongs in your permanent library.
