Where is Persona 6? Atlus Leaves Fans Waiting as 2026 Roadmap Stays Quiet

A decade after Persona 5, Atlus has left fans with zero updates on Persona 6 or the rumored Persona 4 Revival, raising questions about the studio's 2026 roadmap.

It has been a decade since Persona 5 first dropped, and outside of a mountain of spin offs, ports, and the Persona 3 remake, the community is still waiting for a proper mainline successor. Writing at Polygon, Josh Broadwell points out that the radio silence on Persona 6 and the absent Persona 4 Revival at the recent Xbox Partner Showcase leave Atlus with a massive 2026 content vacuum. Publishers typically avoid running overlapping marketing campaigns for two massive RPGs at once, but the total lack of updates makes it feel like Atlus is keeping fans in the dark far too long.

The studio has a habit of expanding laterally rather than moving forward quickly. Since 2016, players have seen Persona 5 milked through multiple platforms, rhythm games, and a gacha mobile spin off, alongside the massive success of Metaphor: ReFantazio. That new IP delivered the exact kind of depth and ambition fans expect from the next generation of Persona, raising the bar for whatever comes next. Atlus may simply be playing it smart by avoiding the early announcement trap that plagued games like Metroid Prime 4, choosing to wait until a project is actually ready to show.

There is still a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Series producer Kazuhisa Wada hinted in a late 2025 survey with Japanese outlet 4Gamer that the team expects to share future developments for the franchise throughout 2026. Whether that means a deep dive into Persona 6 or just another round of spinoffs remains to be seen. For now, players across console, PC, and mobile are left speculating if the franchise can still surprise us or if we are doomed to endless variations of the Phantom Thieves.
