A roundup of the best new movie releases to stream at home this weekend, featuring Pixar's Toy Story 5, David Lowery's Mother Mary, and various VOD thrillers.
Weekend plans often mean catching up on the digital backlog, but if you need a break from grinding rank or working through your current Game Pass obsession, the streaming landscape has plenty to offer. Over on VOD, Pixar is back with Toy Story 5, shifting the spotlight to Jessie as our favorite toys face down a very modern adversary in the form of a sassy tablet. It is a neat nod to how entertainment has evolved over the decades, tackling the reality of growing up alongside technology.
If you prefer something with a bit more edge, HBO Max is hosting David Lowery's surreal drama Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel as an iconic pop star and her former costume designer reuniting for one last creative hurrah. Meanwhile, VOD options range from the MMA-fuelled heist thriller Atlas King to eerie indie horror entries like Bury the Devil, giving you plenty of variety depending on your mood.
For those leaning toward subscription services, Hulu brings Steven Soderbergh's latest comedy The Christophers, while Netflix offers the biographical drama I Swear. As reported by Polygon, there is no shortage of fresh cinema hitting home screens this weekend, making it easy to kick back between your favorite multiplayer sessions and creator streams.
