Following the success of the Reze Arc movie, fans are looking to studio MAPPA for news on Chainsaw Man season 2, potential release timelines, and how the remaining manga arcs might be adapted.
Anime fans are eagerly awaiting news on the future of the franchise following the massive box office success of Chainsaw Man, The Movie: Reze Arc, originally reported by Polygon. Studio MAPPA has yet to officially confirm a second season, though industry rumors suggest that production may already be underway. With the Reze Arc faithfully adapting thirteen chapters of the manga on the big screen, three major story arcs still remain within the Public Safety Saga, leaving plenty of narrative fuel for a potential television return.
The studio has a few different paths forward when it comes to structuring the adaptation. MAPPA could easily bundle the remaining three arcs into a single television season to wrap up the first major portion of the manga, much like how the first season covered four separate arcs. Another possibility involves following the release model used by other major Shonen hits, alternating between episodic television broadcasts and theatrical feature films to maximize both audience engagement and box office potential.
Timing remains the biggest question for the community. The gap between the first season in 2022 and the recent Reze Arc film was prolonged by fan division over the initial directorial style, but recent changes to the creative team have restored confidence among viewers. While a late 2026 release window is the earliest realistic expectation based on previous production timelines, readers can always jump straight into chapter 52 of the manga to see what happens next.
