Literary phenomenon Warrior Cats is expanding into gaming and streaming with a newly announced turn-based RPG titled Clans of the Forest, scheduled for release this fall, alongside a Disney Plus animated series coming in 2028.
Long-running book phenomenon Warrior Cats is finally making the jump to interactive entertainment. Developer Trailmark Games and the Coolabi Group recently revealed a first look at Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest, marking the very first video game adaptation for the massive literary franchise. According to the debut trailer, the game will be a turn-based RPG featuring a custom character creator. Players will choose their allegiance among four distinct clans and navigate branching storylines shaped by player choice and relationship building, drawing comparisons to structural setups seen in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
The game will pull heavily from established lore, featuring iconic felines from the novels alongside original characters while exploring familiar locations like the Moonpool and the Island. Best of all, players will not have to wait long to jump in, because the title is currently slated for release this fall. This interactive debut arrives alongside major multimedia expansion plans, following a recent announcement that Disney picked up the upcoming animated series adaptation for distribution on Disney Plus and Disney Channel ahead of a planned 2028 premiere.
For a community that has spent over two decades trading theories and following the sprawling feline arcs created under the Erin Hunter pseudonym, this upcoming one-two punch of a new game and a streaming series marks a massive cultural milestone. As transmedia adaptations become the standard for keeping massive fandoms engaged across consoles, streaming queues, and community spaces, Warrior Cats is stepping into the modern entertainment spotlight in a big way.
