Warner Bros. has adjusted its upcoming film slate, delaying both Gremlins 3 and the animated DC project Dynamic Duo by several months.
Warner Bros. is shuffling its upcoming theatrical slate, pushing back the release dates for both the long-awaited Gremlins 3 and the DC animated film Dynamic Duo. IGN South Africa reports that the studio is adjusting its production calendar as it looks ahead to 2028, meaning fans will have to wait a bit longer to see these projects hit the big screen.
Gremlins 3 has been delayed by a full year, moving from its initial late 2027 window to an October 6, 2028 theatrical release. Director Chris Columbus, who wrote the original film, is leading the project after pursuing it for over a decade. Alongside the date change, Warner Bros. dropped a brief teaser featuring a familiar creature popping out of a backpack, though substantial footage is still a long way off.
Meanwhile, the experimental DC project Dynamic Duo has shifted from June 2028 to September 22, 2028. Focusing on the early adventures of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, the film aims for a distinct aesthetic that blends traditional computer graphics, stop-motion animation, and puppetry. With production backing from Matt Reeves and James Gunn, the studio is clearly chasing the stylistic innovation seen in modern hit animation, though it remains to be seen if the Robins can carry a blockbuster animated feature in the same way.
