Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader Wraps Its Story This December with Final DLC

Owlcat Games is closing the book on Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader this December with its final expansion, Processional of the Damned, before shifting focus to upcoming projects like Dark Heresy.

Owlcat Games is officially bringing its acclaimed cRPG to a close. According to IGN South Africa, the studio announced that the upcoming Processional of the Damned DLC arriving this December will be the final chapter for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, three years after the game first launched in December 2023. For a title that quickly cemented itself as one of the best digital adaptations of the Warhammer universe, this final expansion looks ready to deliver a substantial sendoff rather than just a quick cash grab.

The final expansion packs plenty of heavy content for players jumping back in for a fresh run. Processional of the Damned introduces a brand new storyline, a melee-focused Zealot archetype, new enemies from the Arch Enemy and Aeladari factions, and a new companion named Stella. Stella is an unsanctioned psyker whose unstable abilities cause physical distress, adding a neat layer of narrative risk to her recruitment. True to Owlcat's design philosophy, the new content weaves directly into the main campaign rather than acting as a detached side story.

Closing the book on Rogue Trader lets Owlcat fully pivot its internal momentum toward upcoming heavy hitters like Dark Heresy and The Expanse: Osiris Reborn. While finishing a massive cRPG is always bittersweet for a dedicated community, Owlcat has earned enough goodwill that players are already eager to see what the studio tackles next. This final expansion gives us the perfect excuse to spin up a new character and clear the Koronus Expanse one last time.
