Warframe is Heading to Nintendo Switch 2 With a Massive New Update and Asymmetric Horror Mode

Warframe lands on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 25 with 1080p/60fps support, arriving alongside The Shadowgrapher update which introduces a 4v1 horror mode, Clan overhauls, and the game's 64th playable frame.

Digital Extremes is finally bringing Warframe to Nintendo's next-generation hardware later this month. According to a report by Eurogamer, the long-awaited Switch 2 version launches on March 25. Players on the new system can expect a solid 1080p resolution running at a smooth 60 frames per second in both handheld and docked modes. The studio is also promising sharper textures, faster load times, and native support for the Switch 2 mouse mode via the right Joy-Con. Anyone logging in between March 25 and April 15 will snag the free Ambimanus Pack loaded with weapons, skins, and boosters.

The hardware upgrade coincides with the global rollout of a major update titled The Shadowgrapher across all platforms. The standout addition is Follie's Hunt, a fresh 4v1 asymmetric multiplayer mode that channels serious survival horror vibes. Four players must complete unfinished paintings across the Vesper Relay ruins while dodging Follie, who also happens to be the game's 64th playable Warframe. As matches progress and more art gets finished, Follie's cooldowns shrink and aggression ramps up, creating a tense dynamic that should keep squads communicating on Discord.

Beyond the horror-inspired mode, The Shadowgrapher leans hard into community building by overhauling Clan features. Players can now take advantage of dedicated matchmaking, weekly Clan missions, resource bonuses for grouping with guildmates, and even full Clan merging capabilities. It is a smart move for a game that relies so heavily on long-term social loops and active community hubs. Throw in a new limited-time event called Operation: Atramentum starting on April 2, and Warframe is rolling into spring with plenty of momentum for both veteran Tenno and fresh faces.
