Blizzard shadow dropped the Forsaken Kingdom expansion for Warcraft 3 Reforged alongside a major Update 3.0 overhaul at BlizzCon, adding a new 30-hour campaign, modernized graphics options, and extensive editor tools.
Blizzard surprised players during the opening moments of BlizzCon by shadow dropping a brand new expansion for Warcraft 3 Reforged. Titled Forsaken Kingdom, the add-on delivers more than 30 hours of campaign content split across a prologue and three chapters. The story picks up a narrative thread left untouched for over two decades, exploring the fall of Lordaeron, the emergence of the Forsaken undead faction under Sylvanas Windrunner, and the founding of the Undercity.
The new campaign costs $29.99 as a standalone purchase on Battle.net, with bundled options also available alongside the base game and cross-game rewards. Alongside the paid expansion, Blizzard released the massive Update 3.0 for all existing owners of Warcraft 3 Reforged. This free patch completely revamps the game with the introduction of a new Definitive Edition graphics mode, unlimited lights in HD, improved fog and water, and a major overhaul to the World Editor.
Update 3.0 also brings crucial mechanical changes to the real-time strategy title, including a raised selection group cap of 24 units, new stats like ability vamp and crit chance, and a neutral Forsaken Paladin hero. The patch arrives as part of Blizzard's ongoing effort to rebuild player trust following the notoriously rough launch of Reforged in 2020. With fresh networking infrastructure, new global game servers, and robust editing tools, the update aims to revitalize the custom game community and strategic depth of the classic title.
