Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Brings Clans Back to Base Game After Fan Pushback

Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room have added the Lasombra and Toreador clans to the Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 base game following strong fan pushback against initial DLC plans.

Publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room have listened to their community. As reported by Eurogamer, the Lasombra and Toreador clans are officially returning to the base game of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. This shift comes after significant pushback from fans who were unhappy with the original strategy to lock those core clans behind premium launch downloadable content.

Marco Behrmann, Executive Producer on the project, acknowledged that direct player feedback made it clear these factions belong in the standard experience. While those clans are now secured for all players at launch, the team still has post-launch content planned. Two new story packs focusing on Camarilla Sheriff Benny Muldoon and Primogen Ysabella Moore are scheduled to arrive in 2026, and they will be bundled into the game expansion pass.

For a title that has navigated a famously rocky development cycle, this pivot shows a willingness to course-correct based on community sentiment. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 launches on October 21 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles. Read the original report over at Eurogamer.
