New leaks suggest the upcoming LEGO PlayStation 1 set will be a nearly life-sized replica featuring diorama Easter eggs for classic titles like Ape Escape and Gran Turismo ahead of a rumored late 2026 launch.
Recent leaks reported by GameRant indicate that the upcoming LEGO PlayStation 1 set will be a nearly one-to-one scale replica of the iconic console. According to details shared by the Brick Tap community, the build will match the original hardware's dimensions within a matter of centimeters, making it a substantial display piece for collectors. Rumors point to a late 2026 holiday launch, perfectly timing the nostalgic collectible for the busiest retail season of the year.
Beyond the exterior shell, fresh details suggest the set will feature clever diorama-style Easter eggs tucked away inside the build. Pulling out the sides of the model will reportedly reveal hidden scenes paying homage to classic franchise favorites like Ape Escape and Gran Turismo. These nods lean heavily into the historical catalog that defined the platform during its original run.
For modern players who grew up with the grey box in their living rooms, physical crossovers like this highlight how deeply entrenched gaming nostalgia has become in contemporary culture. LEGO and Sony are tapping into the same emotional resonance that drives modern remakes and retro hardware releases. If these leaked details hold true, the collaborative set will offer a rewarding build for long-time fans who treat gaming history as a core part of their identity.
