Universal Studios Japan is launching Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive on September 11, offering an R-15 immersive horror experience based on Capcom's latest hit.
Capcom is expanding the massive success of Resident Evil Requiem into the physical world with a new theme park experience. Opening on September 11 at Universal Studios Japan, Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive plunges visitors into a recreation of The Wrenwood Hotel. The attraction sets visitors on a search for missing FBI intelligence analyst Grace Ashcroft alongside series veteran Leon S. Kennedy. With an R-15 rating, the limited run event promises genuine thrills and plenty of zombies before closing on December 27.
While the immersive experience is currently exclusive to Japan, the broader Resident Evil universe has plenty more on the horizon for players worldwide. Capcom has story DLC planned for Requiem following leaks pointing toward classic locations like the Spencer Mansion, alongside the heavily anticipated Resident Evil: Veronica remake slated for 2027. Movie fans also have Zach Cregger's upcoming theatrical reboot hitting screens later this September.
Universal has increasingly relied on major gaming properties to anchor its seasonal horror lineups, leaning heavily into hits like Five Nights at Freddy's in recent years. Translating modern horror blockbusters into live action spaces reflects how deeply gaming culture now permeates mainstream entertainment. As franchises like Resident Evil continue breaking sales records across current hardware, these cross-media expansions give communities new ways to engage with their favorite virtual worlds outside of traditional gaming sessions.
