Nordic Trolls showcases creature taming and procedural survival mechanics in the latest gameplay trailer for Under a Rock, highlighting potential for cooperative play and streaming content.
Open-world survival crafting fans have a new title on their radar thanks to a fresh look at Nordic Trolls' upcoming project. IGN South Africa recently debuted the official taming gameplay trailer for Under a Rock, giving players a deeper look at how procedural generation and creature domestication will shape the core loop of the game. For a genre that thrives on community discovery and shared creator content, the addition of detailed fauna interaction could give this title serious streaming potential.
The newly revealed footage highlights how players can befriend, ride, and utilize various creatures scattered across the game's vibrant, unmapped islands. In an era where survival games live or die by their sandbox depth and multiplayer stability, leaning into creature mechanics is a proven way to drive player engagement and memorable emergent moments. Whether players are tackling the wilderness solo or coordinating with squads across cross-play sessions, building a roster of tamed companions looks set to anchor the core progression.
While developers love to lean heavily into cinematic hype, the real test for Under a Rock will be how these taming systems feel in actual gameplay and whether the procedural world-generation offers enough variety to keep the community hooked long-term. As survival titles continue to dominate creator platforms and community watch-parties, keeping an eye on how Nordic Trolls handles post-launch support and player feedback will be crucial.
