A comprehensive guide detailing how to track down all hidden map pieces and unlock restorable treasure in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, originally reported by Polygon.
If you are diving back into the high seas for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, you probably know that standard exploration will not cut it for the game's rarest loot. Ubisoft's updated voyage introduces restorable treasure maps, which require you to track down scattered fragments across the Caribbean before a local Treasure Dealer in Great Inagua will piece them together. Unlocking these services takes a completed run of the main quest "This Old Cove" and a modest fee of 5,000 reales, but the payout includes legendary trinkets, unique outfits, and custom ship upgrades that make the grind worthwhile.
The hunt demands patience because these map pieces hide behind entirely different gameplay loops. Weathered pieces require you to hunt down specific location secrets inside smugglers' dens like Ambergris Key and Anotto Bay, while yellowed pieces are tied to the RNG heavy mechanics of Kenway's fleet trade missions. Veteran players looking to optimize their time can lean on smart save management for the fleet drops or systematically clear out cave symbols on the world map to secure every fragment. Once a specific map type is fully assembled and restored, it points toward hidden locations like Mystery Island or Black Island for major rewards.
For the complete breakdown of coordinates, restoration costs, and specific crafting requirements for every map tier, check out the original guide on Polygon. Whether you are hunting down rare shanties or decking out your schooner with obsidian sails, proper planning will keep you from wasting hours wandering the open ocean. As always, keep your fleet active and your cargo bays stocked if you want to claim the ultimate pirate haul.
