Total War: Warhammer 3 is receiving its largest DLC ever in September, bringing four new legendary lords alongside a massive free update featuring Vampire Queen Neferata and faction reworks.
Creative Assembly is capping off a decade of grand strategy content with what it calls the biggest expansion in the series history. Hitting platforms on September 24, the Lords of the End Times DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3 brings four new legendary lords to the battlefield, led by the supreme necromancer Nagash. Players will also have to contend with returning fan favorites like the Skaven seer Thanquol, the Empire elector count Boris Todbringer, and the grotesque Nurgle champions known as the Glottkin, complete with all the expected tentacle-heavy body modifications and chaos mechanics.
Alongside the paid expansion, a massive free update arrives on the same day to shake up the existing meta. The centerpiece is the introduction of Vampire Queen Neferata, accompanied by a long-awaited and much-needed rework for the Vampire Counts and Archaon The Everchosen. The update also introduces fresh endgame scenarios and revised victory conditions to give veteran strategists new reasons to dive back into the campaign map.
As reported by Rock Paper Shotgun, this massive content drop lands just as the roster of legendary lords crosses the triple-digit mark, raising questions about whether the game's iconic character pool is getting dangerously crowded. Even so, for a community that treats these sprawling strategy sandboxes as long-term digital homes, this September update offers plenty of new toys to master before any potential shift toward futuristic sci-fi settings on the horizon.
