Tomodachi Life Dominates US Charts in April 2026

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream topped US sales charts in April 2026, generating over $41 million and driving a strong month for console content spending, as reported by Eurogamer.

Nintendo has another massive hit on its hands. According to recent market data from Circana, reported by Eurogamer, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream claimed the spot as the best-selling game in the US for April 2026. The social simulation title pulled in over $41 million following its mid-April launch, proving that players still crave chaotic virtual island communities and bizarre Mii interactions. Capcom's new IP Pragmata secured second place, while Pearl Abyss continued its strong run with Crimson Desert taking third.

This month's chart is particularly notable because it marks a shift in how analytics track our habits. Circana has officially incorporated estimated digital sales alongside confirmed figures for most titles, offering a clearer picture of how we buy games today. Console content drove overall market growth with a 21 percent spending increase compared to last year, while subscription services also saw a healthy 13 percent bump. Even physical software sales saw an unexpected 44 percent jump, largely thanks to the massive launch of Nintendo's latest.

Looking at broader engagement, Fortnite remains the undisputed king of monthly active players despite a slight dip of 1.24 million users in April. Counter-Strike 2, Grand Theft Auto 5, Roblox, and EA Sports FC 26 rounded out the top five engagement giants. Meanwhile, Resident Evil: Requiem still holds the crown as the overall biggest-selling game of 2026 so far, though the competition from fresh releases is heating up fast as we head into the summer months.
