Warner Bros. Pictures has officially dropped the trailer for Digger, an upcoming comedic film directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu that brings a seriously star studded cast to the big screen. Set to hit theaters on October 2, the movie follows the most powerful man in the world as he embarks on a frantic mission to position himself as humanity's savior. The catch is that he is racing against time to fix a global catastrophe and trillions of dollars on the line that he accidentally unleashed himself.
While Iñárritu is best known for intense dramas, this new project leans into comedy with a massive ensemble cast. Alongside Tom Cruise leading the charge, the film features Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Emma D'Arcy, and Aetheria Angel. The screenplay is co written by Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris, and Nicolas Giacobone, signaling a fascinating tonal shift for the acclaimed director.
For gamers and pop culture fans who track cross media entertainment and major cinematic releases between gaming sessions, Digger shapes up as a high profile ticket this autumn.
