Toedscool's About to Invade Your Pokemon GO Hikes – And Wiglett's Got a Shiny New Look!

Pokemon GO's Adventure Week is bringing Toedscool and Shiny Wiglett to the game, along with double XP and boosted Incense duration, shaking up wild spawns based on your location. Plus, more Gen 9 Pokemon might be on the horizon – exciting times!

Right, listen up, Pokemon GO trainers! Adventure Week is back, baby, and it's bringing some seriously weird and wonderful changes to your mobile monster hunts. Courtesy of Game Rant, we now know that the Gen 9 'mon Toedscool is officially joining the party, along with its evolved form, Toedscruel. (Honestly, did no one at Game Freak think that name through a second time?) But hold on, there's more! Shiny Wiglett is also making its debut.

For those blissfully unaware, Adventure Week kicks off on July 29th and runs 'til August 3rd. (That's July 29th, 2025, to August 3rd, 2025, for the time-traveling crowd.) What does this mean for you, intrepid explorer? Double XP for catching Pokemon! Now that’s a boost I can get behind. Plus, your Incense (the non-Daily Adventure kind) will last a glorious two hours. Perfect for those extended walks trying to hatch that blasted Riolu.

But wait, there's a twist (because of course there is). Wild spawns are getting a shake-up depending on your location. Hit the city and you'll be tripping over Sizzlipede and Trubbish – which, let's be honest, sounds like a particularly grim Saturday night. Mountainous regions will see a surge in Rufflet and Hippopotas. And if you're lucky enough to be near a beach or water? Prepare for Inkay, Mareanie, Dewpider, and Sandygast galore! Oh, and Shiny Wiglett might just wiggle its way into your Pokedex, if you're very, very lucky.

Toedscool, for the uninitiated, is that weird Ground/Grass type from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that everyone *thought* was a regional Tentacool. Turns out they're totally different species. Go figure. But hey, its goofy design has won over a bunch of fans, and now you'll be able to snag one in the wild (mostly in forests and grasslands, mind you).

There’s also timed research available, of both the free and paid ($1.99) variety. Rewards include rare candy, event Pokemon encounters and lucky eggs. Nothing too revolutionary but a fun little incentive nonetheless!

It’s interesting to see how Pokemon GO has been gradually adding Gen 9 Pokemon. Starting with Shroodle and Fidough way back in January (feels like a lifetime ago, doesn't it?), we've since seen Tinkatink, Kingambit, and Tatsugiri join the fray. The article from Game Rant mentions official artwork teasing Paradox Pokemon… could that be the next big update? Only time will tell, mate. Only time will tell.
