Lego has announced a 2,269-piece Batman Returns Batmobile set featuring a functional transformation feature and an exclusive minifigure, arriving in September.
As reported by Polygon, The Lego Group is finally adding the iconic vehicle from Tim Burton's 1992 film to its lineup with a massive 2,269-piece set. Coming in at four inches high and 17 inches long, this adult-focused build captures the distinct aesthetic of the Michael Keaton era and includes six hidden Easter eggs alongside an exclusive Batman minifigure with a newly designed cowl.
Beyond standard display value, the set features a functional transformation sequence that lets builders deploy side panels to turn the vehicle into the sleek Batmissile. This mechanical touch shows a level of engineering detail that elevates it above a static shelf piece, making it a standout addition for collectors who have already picked up previous builds like the Arkham Asylum set.
This reveal arrives during a busy year for the Caped Crusader across entertainment media, following the successful launch of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on Steam and ongoing anticipation for upcoming cinematic projects. The new Batmobile will launch on September 1 for Lego Insiders and September 4 for the general public, retailing at $229.99 for builders aged 18 and up.
