CD Projekt Red has released two rapid patches for The Witcher 3 Remastered to fix early graphical bugs, save errors, and audio glitches on PC and consoles.
CD Projekt Red recently launched the updated version of its 2015 role-playing masterpiece, bringing major graphical overhauls and system upgrades to the table. However, the release has not been entirely smooth sailing for the community. To tackle immediate player hurdles, the studio pushed out two rapid hotfixes just hours apart to address critical technical hiccups across platforms.
The first update, patch 5.00b, focused heavily on lighting adjustments and resolved a DLSS issue tied to Xbox Play Anywhere on PC, while bringing console versions closer to parity with PC graphics. Shortly after, patch 5.00c arrived specifically for PC storefronts, fixing a frustrating bug that blocked save and load functions when special characters appeared in the Documents folder path. It also targeted an audio glitch where voiceovers dropped significantly in volume after players opened the pause menu, though a console fix for that specific sound issue is still awaiting a release date.
Looking ahead, CD Projekt Red has a packed roadmap for the franchise that goes well beyond these initial launch patches. Next year brings Songs of the Past, a massive new expansion co-developed with Fool's Theory that matches the scale of Blood and Wine and introduces an entirely new region. Meanwhile, development is forging ahead on The Witcher 4, slated for a 2028 release with Ciri taking over the protagonist role from Geralt.
As reported by Polygon, these upcoming projects show that the studio is doubling down on the franchise's longevity. For players jumping back into the continent today, these swift patches ensure a much more stable journey while we all wait for the next chapter in the saga.
