CD Projekt confirms that existing saves and achievement progress will carry over to The Witcher 3 Remastered when it launches on September 29, ensuring players can seamlessly continue their journeys.
CD Projekt has good news for everyone planning to dive back into the Continent. According to a recent update from the studio, your existing save files will carry over directly to the upcoming Remastered edition. This applies across platforms, including Nintendo Switch owners making the jump to the next hardware generation. Since the upgrade will be free for current owners, you can jump right back onto the Path without losing any progress.
Achievement and trophy hunters can also breathe a sigh of relief. Any progress you have already made toward unlocking awards will track and carry straight over into the remastered version. This seamless transition is especially timely given everything else coming with the new release on September 29. The updated client rolls in cross-platform mod support, refined animations, a reworked looting system, and built-in access to the massive Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions.
This release sets the stage nicely for the franchise's future. With a belated third expansion titled Songs of the Past slated for 2027, having your old saves ready means you can knock out the existing expansions and prep your ultimate build before the next major story drop. As reported by IGN, the Remastered edition will soon become the default offering for new buyers alongside a modest price adjustment reflecting the complete bundle of content.
