The White House Drops an Official Browser Arcade, and Players Are Already Calling Foul

The White House has launched an official browser arcade featuring politically themed minigames, immediately drawing online backlash and potential copyright threats from Tetris.
Politicians have dabbled in gaming promotions for years, but the White House just took things to a strange new level by launching an official web arcade. As reported by GameRant, the newly minted Trump Arcade features five free-to-play browser titles hosted directly on WhiteHouse.gov. While political campaigns have relied on in-game ads since the era of Barack Obama, publishing a dedicated suite of government-backed minigames is an unprecedented move for a US administration.
Two titles in the lineup quickly drew heavy criticism for trying to gamify sensitive geopolitical topics. Build the Wall functions as a blatant Tetris clone where players block zombies at the southern border, while Rio Run borrows heavily from Snake mechanics to simulate river patrols and deportations. The titles have sparked widespread online pushback for turning complex social issues into casual web minigames.
The project is also running into serious legal headwinds. The official Tetris account issued a public statement distancing the brand from Build the Wall and threatening potential copyright infringement action. Alongside the Tetris lookalike, the arcade includes Flappy Bill, a direct clone of the viral mobile hit Flappy Bird, raising fresh questions about intellectual property and the optics of official government software releases.
