Trailmark Games has announced The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival, a new side-scrolling beat-em-up featuring Rick, Michonne, and Daryl, coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo platforms.
The Walking Dead universe is expanding once again, and this time, the franchise is taking a hard swing at the classic arcade beat-em-up genre. Developer Trailmark Games recently pulled back the curtain with an official announcement trailer featured on IGN South Africa, showcasing The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival. Rather than sticking to the slow-burn survival horror that often dominates the IP, this new title leans directly into fast-paced action. Players will step into the shoes of iconic survivors including Rick Grimes, Michonne, and Daryl Dixon as they hack and slash their way through the apocalypse.
The game is set to tackle a fresh re-imagining of the infamous All Out War storyline drawn from both the original comics and the television adaptation. Expect plenty of chaotic combat encounters as you juggle brutal melee attacks and ranged firepower against massive hordes of walkers. The threat level spikes even further when you run into hostile pockets of Negan's Saviors, turning standard crowd-control moments into tactical brawls that should feel right at home for fans of classic co-op arcade fighters.
Platform reach is wide open for this release, ensuring that friends can link up regardless of their preferred hardware ecosystem. Trailmark Games has confirmed that Streets of Survival is heading to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and notably, Nintendo's upcoming Switch successor. For a franchise that has experimented with everything from episodic point-and-click adventures to tactical squad builders, a return to punch-heavy arcade action could be a refreshing change of pace for the community.
