The Pokémon Company has officially detailed the Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration set, launching globally on September 16. The set features 30 unique foil Pikachu cards per pack, a brand-new Futuristic rare card tier designed by artist YOSHIROTTEN, and classic favorites like Mew, Mewtwo, and Sylveon.
The Pokémon Company is gearing up for a massive milestone as the Pokémon Trading Card Game approaches its 30th anniversary. Originally launched in 1996 shortly after the debut of Pokémon Red and Green in Japan, the card game has evolved into a cultural cornerstone that bridges generations of collectors and players. As reported by Game Rant, the newly announced Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration set arrives on September 16, and it brings a major logistical win for collectors worldwide by launching simultaneously across regions instead of the usual staggered rollout.
Fans have plenty of reasons to pay attention to this drop beyond traditional nostalgia. Every single pack in the 30th Celebration set will include a foil Pikachu card, showcasing thirty unique designs for the franchise mascot. Alongside the massive Pikachu lineup, the set introduces an entirely new tier called Futuristic rare cards. The first revealed pieces feature Mew and Mewtwo styled by renowned Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN, alongside confirmed cards for fan favorites like Sylveon, Greninja, Lapras, and Drifloon.
This anniversary release lands during a packed year for the franchise, which has already featured Switch re-releases, live musical events, targeted merchandise collections, and even a collaborative LEGO project. For a hobby where digital economies and physical collecting continually intersect, the simultaneous global launch is a refreshing move that levels the playing field for international communities and content creators who track chase cards on launch day.
