Fresh set photos from the production of The Last of Us season three reveal our first look at Kyriana Kratter as Lev alongside Kaitlyn Dever's Abby in Seattle.
Production on the third season of HBO's hit adaptation is well underway, and fresh set photos are giving fans their very first look at Kyriana Kratter suited up as Lev. Spotted by local spotters and shared widely across social media, the images capture Kratter alongside Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, navigating the overgrown, ruined concrete canyons of Seattle. For anyone who spent hours playing through Naughty Dog's source material, these glimpses of the iconic locations bring an immediate wave of familiarity, cementing how closely the production intends to follow the complex narrative structure of the second game.
The upcoming season is set to shift its narrative lens away from Ellie, focusing instead on Abby's perspective during those fateful days in Seattle. Alongside Kratter and Dever, the sprawling cast is expanding to include Patrick Wilson as Jerry and Michelle Mao as Yara. Kratter's physical commitment to the role stands out in the early photographs, featuring a shaved head and the distinct neutral garb of the Seraphites, complete with a signature bow and arrow setup. While HBO has not locked down an exact release date beyond a broad 2027 window, rumors suggest this upcoming run could very well be the final chapter for the television adaptation.
This production milestone also marks a transitional phase behind the scenes, as co-creator Neil Druckmann stepped back from the show following the second season to refocus on Naughty Dog's active game development, including their upcoming project Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. HBO leadership remains confident in the blueprint established by the creative team thus far. As production continues to draw eyes across social platforms and creator streams, community discussion is already heating up around how the adaptation will handle one of the most emotionally challenging arcs in modern gaming history.
