The Folio Society is releasing a massive, premium collector's edition box set for Liu Cixin's The Three-Body Problem trilogy featuring new artwork and an unpublished introduction.
Liu Cixin's monumental sci-fi epic, Remembrance of Earth's Past, is getting the ultimate collector treatment. Following its recent surge into mainstream pop culture via the Netflix adaptation, The Folio Society has revealed a massive, lavishly illustrated hardcover box set titled The Three-Body Problem Trilogy. As reported by IGN South Africa, this release collects all three books in the series alongside brand new introductory material from the author that has never before been published in English.
Clocking in at a staggering 1,344 pages, the limited edition release is packed with incredible design details. Award-winning illustrator Matt Griffin provides fifteen color illustrations and three black and white title page spreads. The physical package includes printed cloth binding, a ribbon marker, and a holographic clamshell box featuring real three-body simulations programmed through MIT. It is a stunning physical object built for dedicated fans of hard science fiction.
While the trilogy is famous for its mind-bending physics and cosmic scope, gamers might also remember its clever integration of virtual reality and simulated worlds within the narrative. For those looking to own the definitive version of a modern sci-fi classic, preorders open on September 8 through the Folio Society website, with the set priced at £550 or $780 for collectors ready to invest in premium digital-free ownership.
