Teardown is Bringing Destructive Physics and Co-op Chaos to Multiplayer Next Month

Teardown's full multiplayer update arrives on March 12, bringing campaign co-op, sandbox mode, and new competitive options to the physics sandbox game.

Destruction is always better with company, and Tuxedo Labs is finally making that a reality for one of the most satisfying sandbox physics engines out there. According to a recent report by Rock Paper Shotgun, Teardown is officially launching its full multiplayer update on March 12, following an extensive beta testing phase. Players will soon be able to tackle the entire campaign in co-op, jump into sandbox mode for unbridled chaos, or try out entirely new competitive modes alongside their regular squads.

For a game built entirely around fully destructible voxel environments, adding native multiplayer feels like the obvious evolutionary step. While solo play offered plenty of freedom to craft elaborate heists and demolish buildings piece by piece, the single-player experience could occasionally stall out once you had exhausted the base campaign and mods. Introducing synchronized demolition opens the door for coordinated planning, chaotic speedruns, and the kind of emergent gameplay moments that dominate streaming platforms like Twitch and TikTok.

Tuxedo Labs is not stopping at the March launch, either, with plans to introduce a dedicated multiplayer racing mode later in the year. For communities that treat games primarily as digital hanging spaces, sharing clips of botched demolition attempts and wildly over-engineered solutions has always been half the fun. This update turns an already great sandbox into a proper social hub, giving us all a very good reason to download the game again and start blowing things up with friends.
