Tarsier Studios Sets February Release and Console Demo for Horror Adventure Reanimal

Tarsier Studios has announced that its upcoming horror adventure Reanimal will launch on February 13 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Switch 2, with a playable console demo available now.

Tarsier Studios, the developer behind the celebrated first two Little Nightmares games, has officially locked in a February 13 release date for Reanimal. Players looking to dive into the nightmare early can download a console demo right now on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, following a previous Steam release. The title is scheduled to land on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and the Switch 2, bringing its grim vision to a wide cross-platform audience.

Reanimal follows an orphaned brother and sister navigating a hellish, distorted version of their childhood home island in search of their friends. Tarsier is promising a notably darker and grittier tone this time around, blending on-foot exploration with boat travel across a fractured, non-linear world. While single-player is fully supported, the biggest addition to the studio's formula is the inclusion of both local and online co-op, allowing friends to face the dread together.

When the full game drops in February, the standard edition will run at 34.99, while a Digital Deluxe option will be available for 49.99, bundling in access to three post-launch DLC chapters. For more details on the announcement, you can check out the original report on Eurogamer.

As horror fans know, playing through tense atmospheres with a friend can completely change the dynamic of a scary game, sometimes softening the frights while building genuine human connection. Tarsier is stepping into territory that recent entries in the genre have explored, and this upcoming release will be a major test of how well cooperative mechanics can elevate a deeply unsettling atmosphere.
