Tall Trails: When Breath of the Wild Meets Banjo-Kazooie, and the Result is Just Plain Lovely, Fair Dinkum!

*Tall Trails* is a charming indie adventure that blends the exploration of *Breath of the Wild* with the collect-a-thon spirit of *Banjo-Kazooie*, resulting in a delightful experience filled with golem antics and rocket boot-fueled mayhem.

Right, so Rock Paper Shotgun reckons there's this game called *Tall Trails* that's just plain nice. And, you know what? They're spot on. Sometimes, you just need a bit of nice, don't you? Like a warm cuppa on a rainy day, or finding a perfectly ripe mushroom in the forest... or, well, playing *Tall Trails*.

Nic Reuben over at RPS stumbled upon the demo, and it sounds like stepping back into a glorious N64 haze, but with a Breath of the Wild twist. Think clambering about, but instead of worrying about Link's stamina, you're stuffing chilli peppers in your boots to use as a bloody jetpack. I mean, come on, who *doesn't* want a chilli pepper jetpack?

The game is all about a little clay golem finding its purpose, which, let's be honest, is a quest we can all relate to. It’s generous with its colours, its music, and most importantly, its movement. You're hoovering up items like mushrooms, sunflowers, and (you guessed it) chilli peppers, and using them to power your rocket boot. Mushroom for a big jump? Sorted. Chilli pepper for a soaring flight? Absolutely. Sunflower for a gentle glide? Fair dinkum!

*Tall Trails* boasts:

* A Rocket Boot fuelled by random flora (and the occasional arachnid, apparently – spiders give you webs for swinging!). * Five distinct biomes to explore, each offering new ways to get around and discover secrets. * The aforementioned quest for purpose – because what's life without a little existential golem-angst? * Customization options, because even clay golems need to express themselves. Hats, badges, the whole shebang. * Randomly generated worlds for endless replayability. Forget about seeing everything the first time 'round – there are islands out there no one has ever clapped eyes on!

The full game drops on August 4th, so mark your calendars, mates. It's the brainchild of Brady Soglin, who is, as Rock Paper Shotgun astutely points out, an anagram for "Yr Sad Boglin." Chin up, Boglin! *Tall Trails* looks like a proper ray of sunshine. And who knows, maybe stuffing chilli peppers in your boots will catch on in real life. I'm willing to give it a go, at least.
