Survival Horror Hit Total Chaos Heads to Nintendo Switch 2 Later This Month

Survival horror game Total Chaos is launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 on April 29, featuring 60 FPS performance targets, Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, and full content parity for $24.99.

Survival horror title Total Chaos is making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 on April 29, bringing its grim atmosphere and intense action to portable hardware. Originally born as an ambitious Doom 2 mod before transforming into a polished standalone release on PC and current-gen consoles, the game drops players back into the decaying mining colony of Fort Oasis. Publisher Apogee Entertainment has confirmed that the digital edition will hit the Nintendo eShop for $24.99, with North American pre-orders opening immediately, though a physical release has not been detailed yet.

From a technical standpoint, the port aims to make good use of Nintendo's newer hardware. The developers report that the game will run at 1080p when docked and 720p in handheld mode, complete with selectable performance profiles and unlocked framerate options targeting 60 frames per second. Even better for shooter fans, the release includes out-of-the-box support for Joy-Con 2 mouse and gyro controls, giving players a more precise way to aim through the darkness.

Players picking up the portable version will also get full content parity with other platforms right out of the gate. The Switch 2 port packs in all previously released post-launch updates, including New Game+ with an alternate ending and the terrifying Hunter stalker enemy.
