Surgent Studios Follows Tales of Kenzera with FixForce, a Co-Op Extraction Platformer

Surgent Studios is shifting gears with FixForce, an upcoming co-op extraction platformer that blends Lethal Company style social chaos with Garry's Mod physics sandbox mechanics, launching into early access on March 12.

Surgent Studios is proving difficult to pigeonhole, following up previous projects with something completely unexpected. As reported by Rock Paper Shotgun, the developer is shifting gears toward a chaotic co-op experience named FixForce. Pitched as an extraction platformer, the game combines the frantic social energy of titles like Lethal Company with the sandbox creativity of Garry's Mod and Half-Life style physics manipulation.

In FixForce, groups of six players explore a colorful, flooded post-apocalyptic city with a clear mission. You must scavenge parts to repair broken machines while using a versatile drill-wrench tool to manipulate the environment. The tool acts like a gravity gun, letting players grab objects like wooden pallets and girders to construct makeshift bridges and stairs on the fly. Survival is a collaborative team effort, especially since player characters are robots. If your head gets blown off by a rogue machine or you flood your circuits, your squad can carry your remains and stitch you back together.

While the co-op survival space is crowded with viral hits, the addition of physics-based platforming gives FixForce a distinct mechanical hook that could help it stand out on creator-focused streaming platforms. Players will not have to wait long to test it out either, as the game launches into early access on March 12 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. You can check out the original details and wishlist the game over on Rock Paper Shotgun.
