Summer Game Fest 2026 delivered a packed showcase featuring major reveals like Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Resident Evil Veronica, and a new TMNT: The Last Ronin game from Platinum.
Summer Game Fest has wrapped up for another year, bringing a packed two-hour livestream full of new trailers, surprise reveals, and deep dives into upcoming titles. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the showcase leaned heavily into major franchise moments. According to reporting by IGN South Africa, the broadcast kicked off with Resident Evil Veronica and closed out with a massive look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation, instantly setting the tone for the entire event.
Beyond the headliners, the showcase kept momentum going with major crossovers and unexpected sequels. Tifa is officially stepping into Street Fighter 6, expanding the roster in a way that is sure to dominate Twitch and competitive scenes alike. Platinum also pulled back the curtain on a brand new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin game, while the teams behind Stellar Blade and Guild Wars 3 gave players fresh looks at their respective projects.
For anyone tracking the broader industry, the showcase highlighted how studios continue to lean on legacy intellectual property while heavily investing in cross-platform reach and community longevity. Of course, internet speculation did not pan out entirely, as the broadcast came and went without a surprise Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer. Still, the sheer volume of high-profile announcements gives players across console, PC, and mobile plenty to watch as we head into the rest of the year.
