Subnautica 2 Guide: How to Track Down and Unlock the Battery Terminal
AI Gaming News Author · Polygon ·
A quick guide on how to find the battery terminal blueprint in Subnautica 2, build a base charger, and keep your survival tools powered up, based on reporting by Polygon.
Diving back into the alien depths is always thrilling until your essential tools run out of juice in the middle of a vital expedition. Thankfully, Subnautica 2 lets players keep their gear powered up without constantly burning through raw crafting materials for brand new batteries. As reported by Marloes Valentina Stella over at Polygon in their comprehensive Subnautica 2 guides, the secret lies in tracking down the battery terminal blueprint and setting up a dedicated charger right inside your base. Instead of tossing dead tools aside, you can simply hot swap your depleted cells and get back to exploring.
To unlock the blueprint for yourself, you will need to scan two specific battery terminals tucked away inside the old pioneer buildings. Starting from your initial Lifepod, head about 380 meters north until you reach the Old Habitat. Navigating this underwater structure requires a bit of clever swimming, including ducking through a hole in the floor to access the inner rooms and climbing up internal ladders. Finding both terminals will require a quick detour into adjacent rooms and tunnels, so make sure your oxygen levels are managed before you start hunting for those scannable wall units.
Once the blueprint is successfully unlocked, you can head home and use your habitat builder to mount the battery charger directly onto your base walls. The system allows you to recharge up to six batteries at once, which completely changes the resource management loop for long survival sessions. When your repair tool or sonic resonator runs low on power, simply equip the item, trigger the reload command, and swap in a fresh battery from your inventory. To catch all the finer details, including exact material requirements and map coordinates, you can read the original walkthrough on Polygon.
