Subnautica 2 gameplay has leaked on Reddit just days ahead of its early access launch, following similar leaks for Forza Horizon 6 and LEGO Batman according to IGN South Africa.
The upcoming early access launch of Subnautica 2 has joined a growing list of high profile projects impacted by pre-release leaks. According to a report by IGN South Africa, screenshots and a short clip of PC gameplay surfaced on Reddit just days before the scheduled debut. The aquatic survival adventure is officially set to land on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
This incident follows a rough week for pre-release security across the industry. Just days prior, unannounced builds and early access versions for both Forza Horizon 6 and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight found their way into player hands ahead of schedule. For developers, these leaks often spoil months of carefully planned marketing and community anticipation, pulling the spotlight away from official rollout events.
As the community waits for the official deployment, players are navigating a social media landscape full of untagged spoilers and early footage. While early access titles are built to evolve alongside community feedback, discovering core mechanics through compressed Reddit clips is rarely the ideal way to experience a new world. Developers will undoubtedly be monitoring platforms closely to contain the spread as the official release window approaches.
