A recent Epic Games Store database leak reported by IGN South Africa reveals a Story Expansion Pass and nine DLC placeholders for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, pointing to major narrative additions on the horizon.
An unexpected database discovery on the Epic Games Store suggests that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is gearing up for a substantial post-launch content roadmap. According to a listing spotted by Tom Phillips over at IGN South Africa, the platform's backend now hosts a placeholder for a Story Expansion Pass, alongside up to nine distinct DLC packs waiting in the wings. For a community that treats these massive modern releases as long-term social hubs and ongoing narrative journeys, the prospect of expanded content is always exciting, even if concrete details remain under wraps for now.
While the sheer variety of potential additions leaves room for everything from cosmetic item bundles to fully realized narrative chapters, the specific inclusion of a Story Expansion Pass points strongly toward major new plot developments. This lines up with recent comments from director Naoki Hamaguchi hinting at ambitious plans to connect various spin-off threads into the overarching conclusion of the Revelation project. For players invested in the intricate lore and digital economies surrounding modern JRPGs, watching how these expansions roll out across platforms will be a major focal point.
Database leaks of this scale usually mean an official announcement is close, potentially giving creators and streamers plenty of new material to unpack on their channels soon. As developers lean further into episodic storytelling and extended live service elements within single-player frameworks, how these expansion passes are priced and packaged will matter just as much as the content itself. We will keep an eye on how Square Enix handles the rollout as the community prepares for the next chapter of the journey.
