Steam's Giving Away Games 'Til August 4th – Get 'Em While They're Hot!

Steam's giving away three games until August 4th – a retro racer, a co-op brawler, and a bullet-hell roguelike – so grab 'em before they vanish back into the digital ether. It's free, what's not to like?
Right, listen up, mates! Seems like Valve's feeling generous (or maybe they just need to clear some digital shelf space – who knows?). Either way, *Game Rant* tipped us off that Steam's chucking three games at us for free, but only 'til August 4th. So, if you fancy adding a bit of retro racing, co-op kitchen chaos, or bullet-hell roguelike action to your library, now's the time to act. Don't say I didn't warn ya!
The freebies up for grabs include *Barro GT*, a racing sim that looks like it escaped from an 8-bit arcade. If you're into the whole retro vibe, apparently it's got Very Positive reviews. Then there's *Kitchen Wars*, which is a co-op brawler where you and your mates can virtually sabotage rival restaurants. Sounds like a recipe for disaster (in the best possible way, of course). And finally, there's *DRACOMATON*, a top-down roguelike that's promising a whole heap of bullet-dodging mayhem.
*Kitchen Wars* seems to be the new kid on the block, having launched into early access earlier this year. And apparently it supports up to eight players in online or local co-op. Eight! That's almost enough for a small raid party. Given the current love for co-op games on Steam, it might be worth grabbing just to see what all the fuss is about.
*DRACOMATON*, on the other hand, is supposed to be a proper time-sink. With its roguelike structure and variety of weapons, it’s the kind of game you could lose hours in. Plus, it's Steam Deck compatible, so you can take the bullet-hell action on the go. Perfect for those long commutes or, you know, hiding in the loo to avoid family gatherings. (Don't judge me, we've all been there.)
And for those who prefer their gaming a bit more…sedate, *Barro GT* might be more your speed. It's an arcade racing simulator with split-screen co-op. Fair play, if you have a friend nearby. The low system requirements mean you should be able to run it on pretty much any potato you've got lying around acting as a gaming PC.
So, what are you waiting for? Head over to Steam and claim your free games before August 4th. You might just find your next addiction, or at the very least, something to keep you entertained on a rainy afternoon. Just don't blame me if you end up neglecting your responsibilities. I'm just the messenger, mate!
